Luna Composition Lab and ChamberQUEER present the second installment of The Nebula Project on November 3. This ongoing partnership, supported by the New York Community Trust, aims to foster emerging composers of diverse identities from Luna Composition Lab and cultivate their authentic voices through mentorship and the commissioning of new work.
At this event, ChamberQUEER will premiere new works by Luna Lab alumni Azalea Twining, Cecelia Olszewski, and Moon Cove, as well as librettist Madeline Weisbeck, engaging with concepts of physical and metaphorical space, enclosure, perception, horror, and mysticism. The commissioned artists also serve as co-curators, shaping the themes of the evening and participating in the selection of pieces from fellow alumni from a call for scores. The program will also include compositions by Luna Lab alumni Olivia Bennett, Carolina Bragg, KiMani Bridges, Madeline Cheng, Devon Lee, Yuri Lee, and Mia Turakhia.
This project is made possible with support from the New York Community Trust.
